May 11 into Busan

Our last day on the bikes in Korea, The first part was through hills, the last kilometer of which was the steepest gradient yet - had to get off the bike and walk it.

Then a great descent, stopping briefly at a lovely temple near the road.

We continue to appreciate the decorative touches in unexpected places, this a bridge beneath rail tracks leading to sports fields on a small road.
That  led us back onto dedicated bike trails for the last 50 km towards Busan.
Realizing that this is near the end of the trip in Korea, we started to reflect on the great recreational and fitness facilities that were everywhere in Korea and especially along the bike trails, here playing fields against the backdrop of a town just outside Busan. We sometimes thought about the plans to densify Squamish - it can only be upwards, eventually like this.
And bridges... can't believe how many bridges there are over the rivers, and they are building more just about everywhere we've been. In two places that we were supposed to ride, bridges that were there a year ago weren't there any more because new ones are being or have been built. Perhaps Korea spends more time building bridges than doing repetitive studies and consultations.
Getting closer in to Busan, we still have an elevated bike path lined with trees in between two big busy thoroughfares. There is fitness equipment every few hundred meters and people of all ages are using the equipment. One of our group went up a hiking trail in a forest in Busan and said there was fitness equipment at a couple of places in the middle of forest in places accessible mainly by foot.
Entering Busan at the end of the Seoul to Busan bicycle trail.
A rest day in Busan tomorrow, then a travel day to Japan.
